Marie (Mars) Szalkiewicz (she/her) is a Los Angeles-based arts administrator, marketer, and digital strategist, originally from New York City. She has a deep passion for the arts and believes strongly in its power to bring people together, shape communities, and provide opportunities for exploration, inspiration, and understanding. Currently, Marie is the Senior Manager of Communications and Digital Strategy at Brooklyn Arts Council, specializing in the convergence of art, culture, and technology.
With nearly 10 years of experience in communications and related fields, Marie’s expertise spans branding, digital marketing, graphic design, media relations, project management, and strategic planning. Her versatile skill set, honed through years of work in both nonprofit and corporate environments, enables her to lead impactful projects and campaigns that amplify mission-driven organizations and elevate brand visibility in an increasingly digital world. She is a self-starter, a fast learner, and always willing to roll up her sleeves.
Marie holds a B.A. in Art History and a B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), as well as an M.A. in Arts Administration from Columbia University.
